In this El Cajon home, the solid pre-finished Brazilian cherry flooring had extreme sun fading and heavy surface wear. The first stage shows the floor before sanding, washed out and dull from years of sunlight. After sanding and restoration, the rich deep color of the cherry returned, sealed with a standard oil-based finish to bring out the natural beauty and durability of this exotic hardwood.

#84 Del Mar Beachfront Condo — Engineered Maple Before & After
This split-level condo at the bottom of Del Mar Heights Road, right above the beach, had engineered maple floors exposed to decades of sun, salt air, and moisture. The original finish had turned orange with fading and discoloration. The first photo shows the floor during sanding, as we removed the worn finish and restored the surface. The second photo reveals the completed work — a clear sealer applied to bring out the natural maple color in a creamy, balanced tone without turning too yellow or too white. The matte sheen now looks stunning in this oceanfront Del Mar setting near the racetrack, Torrey Pines, Old Del Mar, and adjacent Carmel Valley.

#85 La Jolla Beach Rental — Red Oak Refinished with Gray Stain
At this La Jolla beach rental near Bird Rock and La Jolla Boulevard, the homeowner tried to refinish the red oak floors themselves, leaving sanding marks and a poor finish. We were called in to restore them properly. The first photo shows the floor after initial sanding began to remove the failed finish. The second photo reveals the character-grade red oak sanded smooth and finished with a modern gray stain, creating a clean, stylish look.
